Mark your calendars! Our annual member’s meeting will take place at our clubhouse and hangar on Sunday, October 13th.
We’ll get started around 11-ish, with (of course) a plane wash. A BBQ will follow around 1-ish. Mai Maheigan of the Seabird Protection Network will speak about measures we can take to avoid conflict with our feathered brethren. We might have an Oakland Tower controller drop by; if not, Will Golden try to field your ATC questions. Last but not least, the members will vote for next year’s Board of Directors. Nominations are now open; if you’ve ever thought about volunteering as a Director, please contact the membership officer.
Back by popular demand is Thrice Around. Here’s how it works: You go around the pattern three times with a Club Instructor. The CFI is volunteering his/her time; you pay only for the aircraft (usually about .3 hours). Not only will you meet the 90-day requirement, you’ll most likely learn something useful during the free flight instruction. If interested please contact our Chief Pilot, Liz Sommers to schedule a slot.
