New Commercial Pilot: Lucas Ranieri

I am very excited to announce that Lucas Ranieri is now accepting job offers as Alameda Aero Club’s newest commercial pilot! Lucas made the trip across a very hot Central Valley and into the California foothills for the opportunity to impress DPE Ken Cobb with his fine stick and rudder skills. Congratulations Lucas!

New Private Pilot: Richard Cziva

Congratulations to Richard Cziva. Her wife gave birth to their beautiful daughter last Monday! Apparently there is no better time to do the final preparations for a checkride. After sleeping 3-4 hours a day, he didn’t really pass the S in IMSAFE, but he did pass his private pilot checkride with Ken Cobbs at O22. It was a relatively cool day at Columbia, the temperature barely exceeded 100 degrees and the density altitude was only a bit above 5000ft. Now time to order a headset for the baby.

New Private Pilot: Zoltan Olah

On a toaster-oven-hot day at KMCC, after he first made sure all his self manufactured C172 checklists were properly attached to the carefully placed velcro tabs on the brow of the instrument panel on 9UL, Zoltan Olah took Richard Conté (DPE) up for a flight. After the usual air work and pattern shenanigans Richard deemed the performance worthy and issued Zoltan his temporary private pilot license.

Congratulations Zoltan!

New Private Pilot: Ted Waddelow

I’m happy to announce that Ted Waddelow passed his private pilot check ride today.

After a “really good” oral exam performance, Richard Conté (DPE) failed the GPS in 9UL and had them divert to KEDU for pattern and air work shenanigans before returning to KMCC.

Thanks Andrew for keeping the aircraft on the ground the day before this check ride, to make sure the 100 hour inspection requirement would not be an issue.

Congratulations Ted!
